Transmission and reception signal strengths

Mon Jan 23, 2012 6:42 pm

Hello,

In the wireless registration table (using Winbox to visualize it),

1). Which is the difference between :
Transmission signal strength (tx-signal-strength) and Reception signal strength (rx) ?
Both are expressed in dBm.

2). What is the meaning of :
Signal strengths (around 30 numbers) ?

I am using the Mikrotik routers for a wireless mesh network.

Thanks,
Javier

tx signal strenght is the rate at which you can send out signal while rx signal strenght is the rate at which you can receive signal from other transmitters.

Signal strenght is the power at which a station can communicate with other station. It is usually measured in dbm.
