Wlan as Gateway for all ethernet port plus AP

Sat Jan 28, 2012 4:36 pm

Hi @ all,

I have read about WDS and other solution, but I'm little confused.

I have a netgear wireless router connected to adsl line, so I want to use the RB751U-2HnD to create a new network, and share it with all eth and create a new AP.

The configuration is more similar to default mikrotik configuration, but instead of use eth1 as gateway, I want to use a wi-fi signal from other (netgear) router, and use wlan1 as gateway (I want create also a new AP [virtual AP?]).

This can be done using only one radio interface? I need to use WDS?
Thanks

A.

You will have to use WDS. One radio can't be a client and an AP at the same time. You would have to have two radios.

Ok, I have understand that one radio can't be at the same time client and access point.

The link that you have share didn't help me, because isn't clear.
My mikrotik was a repeater? If yes how can I use as repeater of netgear with wpa signal?

Thanks for your help
