I'm trying to figure out why the speed of wi-fi connection is less than expected - at least 50Mbps.

With the router TL-WR841ND v7 it was 90Mbps with connection 802.11n-only. With microktik in this mode macbook are not able to connect.

Feq. usage on the channel used said usage 0.0.

At the moment, the connection speed is not greater than 30Mbps.

The router supports up to 300Mbps, the laptop up to 140Mbps (Macbook4,1).

The router operates in a mode ap bridge 2GHz-B/G/N, channel width 20/40MHz HT above, indoors.

Can I check at which mode (at what speed), they connected?

Advice how to "speed up" the router

Disable chain0 TX. That did it for us.

Setting will be next:

HT tx chains: chain1
HT rx chains: chain0 + chain1
Antenna mode: antenna a

right?

This helped me a lot, can someone explain why this would help performance?

Should you use tx on one chain and rx on another chain to get the best performance?

I know this is an old thread but ..............
try to upgrade the router firmware also not just the ROS version.
Go to system > routerboard check if firmware update is available and upgrade ?
Helped a lot for my setup also the post about the chains above helped aswell.
But still have intermittent wifi problems on apple devices mainly iphone 5 were
wifi signal shows but no web access.
Youtube has a lot of streaming problems with this routerboard and can be intermittent.
ROS 5.22 upgrade also helped
Still think there is a problem with the wifi on this device but cant pinpoint the problem.
