Mikrotik wireless problem

Sun Oct 14, 2012 7:43 pm

Hello everybody!I am a beginner in Mikrotik devices

I have got a Mikrotik 751U-2Hnd,750 GL and 411 U with R52 Hn card,i purchased these devices for learning,i would like to develop my network skill

The problem is the following:

My Mikrotik 751 at the moment is the AP and the 411U client:The problem is i tried connecting to the AP but the signal and the ccq is very weak,i reduced the tx power 17 dBm,it is should be enough in the room, the devices between the distance is some meters, i tried all wireless protocolls,b,g,n

I don't know,what is the problem

Thank you for your all help

Did you connect an antenna to Rb411U+R52hn? If not, is possible you have already damage the card.

Yes,of course i connected a little antenna in to one mmcx,in this case i can use 1*1 MIMO 150 mbit/sec?

Only one chain is active by default in RB, check if you activate second chain signal increases.

You are using one chain, and one antenna. So, is the antenna on the right connector for that chain?

At this point, just look at signal strength, because if that's low nothing else is going to work well.

Using a chain without an antenna on it would damage the card. There is a guide to check this too.

Yes i know, without antenna using can damage the card, but i was not using without antenna,i try connecting to RB 751,it has got a very strong 1 W transmit power, but i setup 17 dBm,it is should enough in the room, the distance is some meters, but the ccq is 10%,TX-RX ratre is:1/1 Mbit/sec

But can i use this card of mikrotik only 1 mmcx chain?or just that with both chain?

You should be at about -60 for signal strength, too high is just as bad as too low. I'm puzzled that you tried both chains with only one antenna, that would kill one chain at a time when you change, so chances are really high that you killed the card.
