Problems with mesh-interface and topology change

Mon Nov 05, 2012 10:26 am

Hi,

i have a simple setup of 5 RB751, one is configured as hotspot-gw, the others are simple wds-slaves. In the current lab-setup all devices can see each other by wifi.

The gateway has "Mesh Portal" configured. All other settings are default settings and i use dynamic-mesh in the wifi settings.

Now when one accesspoint is getting lost (i.e. rebooted) everything is ok but when it comes back (topology change?) i loose the whole wds mesh for about 45 seconds and i can not reach any of the other (still connected) accesspoints.

I didnt find any good howto or anything like that, that could help me with that issue :(

Any ideas?

Regards,
Joerg

Mesh is still broken and does not have the wds loop fix that were introduced to bridging in the 5.18 fix - or so I was told when I questioned this with support. They 'may' get around to fixing it.

Your simply getting a L2 loop which floods the network until it finally sorts itself out.
