Omnitik problems

Mon Nov 05, 2012 11:57 am

What's your uptime on Omnitik?

I have very often watchdog reboot.
I noticed that the CPU use flash in /system profile is 100%.
I notice that sometime my other Omnitik cpu use 100% and watchdog reset it.
I notice alsow that winbox can't login to omnitik.
On one channel TX power fell down from -55 dbm to -88 dbm
Recently wirelesslan interface disappeared

Do you do you have also such problems?

hardware problems? in 10 Omnitiks? :)
u must be unlucky
Dude dont worry there must be something u doing wrong
I never had problem with Omnitik -OmniTIK U-5HnD
but if its OmniTIK UPA-5HnD with PoE output I dont know. (never tried)
I read somewhere on this forum that they have same problems like u describe but its all now fixed
just upgrade to last Mt ver. and last firmware

watchdog reboot- can be due long time CPU usage=100%
if CPU is 100% its almost impossible to log in with winbox
wireless-lan can dispirited if the board (himself) is preparing to reboot (watchdog reboot) but it take a lot of time due CPU usage=100%

upgrade to last ver. 5.21,send ur config.
and send supout.rif to suport@mikrotik.com

Omnitik has big problem with flash
CPU is usage 100% by flash process and after that is reboot by watchdog
that why Omnitik has a lot of reboot and hungup for a few seconds
Miktotik support do not want to admit to the problem.
I have a lot of screenshot and film on youtube with that problem
Recently I even try ROS 6.0rc3 but the problem occurs even more.
Omnitik hardware is completely unstable poorly designed and brooken.

Omnitik problems

Hi have exactly the same flash and reset problem with my Omnitk. I have lots of angry customers and think of taking out the unit and putting in Ruckus. No solution from support so far.

I have several Omnitiks that are randomly rebooting every 2 or 3 days Ros v5.24, simple AP bridges 4 or 5 clients. I see from posts that I am not alone. Has anybody found a fix for these yet. or are they simply not stable enough for a production enviroment. Can Mikrotik shed any light on this one

I have just experience the exact same issue. The OmniTik reboots and comes back without a wlan1 interface! What can be done to fix this? I'm running 6.9. Is downgrading recommended?

Try install routeros 6.7 with netinstall and try again.
The omnitiks that I have (5) are stable and work excellent.
I use 27 volt PSU of meanwell.
The omnitiks were not stable with 12 volt power supplies

We have 100 stable omnitiks in the field

only the one at my home has wireless that stops working.

If you have TX - RX problems , then you have to check the antenna connections, i had one with a short cirquit and one with a missing solder point ...
