Dynamic Routing protocol- which one?

Sun Feb 12, 2006 11:09 pm

Hi, we have a wireless network quickly growing, and at this time i'm using rip.
everything runs fine, but knowing RIP limitation i would like to switch to OSPF.
I started to look at the forum, and i understand that ospf under MT is not stable..
Is this correct or it's just a wrong impression? i'm starting considering to use iBGP, to avoid at least the 15 metric limit, but i'm not so sure ibgp is stable either on MT at this point...
Any advice is welcome.. Thanks,
Ricky

Hi,
yes you can rely on BGP as long as you keep it running inside your network with no filters. OSPF is not reliable yet.

Thanks, i see. with no filters you mean with no filters applied by mt, right?
I really cannot send a full table to the rb =)
I'll filter the announcements sent to the RB by the border routers...
Do preferences and weight work?
Thanks,
Ricky

in normal routing package you can't set anything in BGP like dynamic atributes. Routing test package gives me session timeouts, so i dont use it.
