Six SR2's is absolutely above the maximum electrical power the RB500 can provide...

Search the forum for relevant threads - this has been discussed here and on http://forum.routerboard.com, too.

Nope, RB500 series will support a recommended maximum of two SR2/5 cards. It's the limitation of the miniPCI slots.

4 cm9 cards work without problem!
2 SR2 cards are maximum for RB532!
I never tried two SR2 and two CM9 in RB532 so I can't give you any advice about that configuration.

Cheers...

hello all,

i have a new client that already is already WISP using 2.4 GHZ platform with YDI radios with this he has ydi CPE radios in stock.... but he want my me to build a back backhaul link for him on 5ghz and later distribute again with 2.4 ghz. so i want to use rb530/2x sr2. with 2x 180 degree sectors or 4x 90 degres sectors with splitters.

my main concern is: how effective are 2 of SR2 cards on RB532 ?
how effective will it be to split one card into 2x 90 degress sectors
will 2x SR5 cards be effective too

I have a few set up
532 + SR5 and CM9
532 + SR2 and SR2 (on low output) and CM9
532 + SR5 and SR2
512 + SR2 and SR2
512 + SR2 and prism 200mw

All seam to work ok, but the 5.8 links are taking a bit to get sorted 100%

Back when the SR2 first came out I tried 4 and a CM9 and killed it. I have learnt from my mistake.

Like everyone says 2 Max

I don´t recommend you that... only if you power down one of the SR....
