Hey guys,

Yea, there is something definitely very wrong with these 2G Metal Grooves. I have this same problem. As usual Mikrotik will first assume we have no idea what we are doing and suggest normal troubleshooting steps first and waste a good couple of days ignoring the problem.

On the other hand, I'm quite happy with them :)
It's just a matter of spending some time to configure and fine tune the radios for best production performances.
If you want to use a 1600mW capable radio on 2,4GHz, use it on a PtP 50Km link and I can assure you it works if you pick the right antennas :)

I can see where in a PtP setup it would work well. With just one client, setting the ack/distance manually or enabling nv2 would resolve the problem. I believe the problem lies with how the device is calculating the ack setting dynamically.

give this a go, see if it works.
you shouldn't have a problem unless you have a NLOS issue there....

I would say this is normal on your setup... as far as I understood you have a AP ( RB Metal2) providing connectivity to PCs, laptops and all sort of other hand held devices...

is this the case?

Steven,

Yes, looks like he has an assortment of client devices, but what he is showing you is the connection uptimes. It is odd that a group of clients with to relation to each other gets kicked and another group stays.

ba7abak - what does the log say when this happens?

do the clients simple disconnect and then reconnect in a matter of seconds?

right before and as the clients disconnect what is the ccq/signals/noise/etc of the connections?

That voltage is completely fine.

And this is forum is not considered a proper channel for support from Mikrotik. If you are not finding your answers here, then I would suggest sending an email to support @ mikrotik.com

The S simply means it is currently a slave port in a bridge.

This is new in v6, if that coincides with your problem, then try downgrading to a v5 version.

NOTE: I downgraded a metal from 6.0rc11 to 5.1 and it never came back and I no longer have access to it.

The Metal doesn't support RouterOS v5.1 - this version came out before we made the Metal. Please follow this procedure to reinstall the RouterOS to a newer version. You can use v5.24 or v6.0rc11 http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Netinstall

Same Problem here. Tons of clients getting regulary "disco's" from metal. All RB33 working fine in same area with same Antenna.

Should we all contact Mikrotik support or is there any help on the forum for this?

This topic hasn't seen any replies in a few months, but I have exactly the same problems.
I have a Metal placed a month ago and I saw the problem from the first day. I thought it maybe something from the antenna or similar at that location.
But today I placed another Metal in a completely different location and it has exactly the same problem.
Both Metals are replacing very old rb133 boards. Signals are all very good ranging from -50 to -65dB. This is an outdoor installation and clients are 1km to 3km from base.
I have a group of clients who don't disconnect and can have uptime of 10days+ and another group of clients that disconnect at the same time with "class 3 frame"
The disconnecting clients are mostly tp-link outdoor devices. All tp-links have their firmware updated to latest version and Metals are with latest v6.7 router os.

So you are saying that only few wireless clients are experiencing problems with wireless disconnections - the rest of the wireless clients continue to work fine? How far are those problematic wireless clients?
Try to reset the wireless interface configuration to default values and check if you still see the problem.

This is taken from logs :

Dec 18 16:36:48 192.168.11.77 wireless,info: F4:EC:38:DF:xx:xx@wlan1: disconnected, received deauth: class 3 frame received (7)
Dec 18 16:36:48 192.168.11.77 wireless,info: 00:25:86:CD:xx:xx@wlan1: disconnected, received deauth: class 3 frame received (7)
Dec 18 16:36:48 192.168.11.77 wireless,info: A0:F3:C1:CF:xx:xx@wlan1: disconnected, received deauth: class 3 frame received (7)

They all disconnect at the same time and reconnect a few seconds later. All are on 1km or less distance and it is reported correctly.
As I said in previous post the signals are good. I've also lowered the tx power on some of the clients so they are all above -50dB
At this same time some other clients stay connected and their connection stays good.
The total number of clients on this ap is 10-12. And the disconnecting clients with this reason are 3-6.

Hi,

I am experiencing the same problem as described here on 2 of 3 Metals so far (have 5 more I haven't tried).

Has anything happened in this issue? It just seemed to get silent on this topic without a resolution?

All my units are produced mid 2013. I Is it hw related, as this seems to be when all others started to experience issues.

I am hoping it is software related, but there is still no fix.
I am always upgrading the minute there is a new version, both routeros and firmware, but this is still happening.

I upgraded today one Metal, wanted to try how are things with the new wireless-fp package, but still the same :
