Tower lease pricing

Wed Jan 22, 2014 3:33 am

This isn't really a Mikrotik related question but it does pertain to our 100% Mikrotik network with over 900 clients. :-) I have not used a commercial tower provider in years but needed access to an AMT tower for a new backhaul project. The tower is in Texas near an Interstate and does have quite a bit of cell gear on it. I inquired about leasing space for a 32" dish and outdoor enclosure for an RB912 at 70 feet. The tower is 190 feet tall. Their quote was $550 per month/5 year lease with an annual price increase of 3% and a structural analysis/site inspection fee of $2000. Is this normal pricing? I thought AMT was 'Wisp friendly'.

You are looking at doing a commerical lease on a commerical cell site or two radio site.

All that pricing is pretty standard for any of these type of sites.

Now I have to ask, why do you need a 32" dish antenna? Are you trying to install a microwave back haul?

Oops, I actually meant a 32 dB dish and yes, it is a new backhaul to a fiber connection at that location. It will probably be upgraded to a licensed link eventually.

Thanks for your input.
