SEXTANT G 5HPnD polarity

Fri Jan 31, 2014 9:22 am

Hi

I have some legacy 802.11a MT APs using R5H on RB433AHs.
Have bought a bunch of SEXTANT G 5HPnD to use as CPEs on these.
To get good signal I have to use Horizontal polarity.
This makes the hatch position awkward on these antennas.
Had this on some other 802.11N MT RBs, but then I could change polarity by changing between antenna a and b.

Any way to do this on SEXTANT G 5HPnD??

You can unclip the Sextant around the edges to gain access to the insides. Having done that you can easily swap the pigtails over or even replace the RouterBOARD inside with a different version.

I might be a bit late now but I just remembered you can adjust the ht-txchains and ht-rxchains parameters for the wireless interface. I think chain 0 is attached to the horizontal antenna but you might need to take the Sextant apart to check that. Also I remember reading somewhere that you can't use chain 1 without also using chain 0 due to chipset limitations.
