RB2011 - big latency

Sat Mar 08, 2014 7:45 pm

Hello,

I have RB2011 UAS-2HnD-IN. My wireless is running on B/G/N mode. I have connected max. 5 clients. When I try to download something over than 20Mbps via wifi, my ping to gateway is going up to > 20ms and more. What should I change in my settings? My friends tested this same on his ZyXel and he has ping still < 5ms. You can look to me by WinBox:

IP: 109.236.117.106
Name: mikrotik
Pass: mikrotik

How it looks during higher traffic:

If you have clients with pore modulations connected then that could explain your latency. What is the condition of each wireless client when your having latency? You could confirm that you have both chains enabled for send and receive as well as using B/G/N. If you wanted you could disable the lower modulation rates which would guarantee better connections. With low modulations a pore connection can consume all of the wireless airtime.
