dropping connections as soon as data is transmitted

another problem, as soon as data is being transmitted the connection drops. if nothing is transferred the connections works fine..

one station and one bridge, line of sight..

here is the equipment being used..

routerboard 112
48v power supply
nmp8602

routerboard 532
48v powersupply
nmp8602

any views or ideas on this please?

Sounds like an autentication problem to me but without detailed setup information I don't think anyone can help.

This has to be signal/noise problem.

What's the signal strength tx/rx?

Hi Guys

Here are the details you were wondering about...

Just to confirm, the are 100% line of sight.

In regestration it shows: tx/rx = 24Mbps/36Mbps Signal strength = -69

Why does a bandwidth test show that we get 4Mbps, while regestration sometimes show 48Mbps?

The MTU is currently 1500, we did try to play around with that.

Scans on the 5GHz band shows only 2 channels in use, we use one of them and there are 6 channels open, also rtied playing withthat.

The tx/rx CCQ = 67/00
Tx Signal = -70
Signal to noise = 21

Wireless cards used are the atheros AR5413 dual band cards (on 5GHz) with the tx power manually changed to 26dbm on both sides.

Anything else you need to know?

Interference. I had a 5Ghz link at under a mile with great RSL. Registration would rapidly cycle when traffic was transmitted. Finally I blocked all traffic except ping and found that any ping of above 400 bytes would kill the link. Also ping times were erratic. I changed the channel and everything has been great.

Try putting tx-power to default or even 17, you'll get lower signal but much better performance. Inform how did it go :)

Lowering the output power to 17dbm worked, more than doubled the speed, and its more stable!!
