Atheros 5211 problem! - Solved!

Thu Jul 20, 2006 2:33 pm

Hi all,

i have strange problem with one Proxim Tsunami mPCI card installed on daughterboard with RB532. In /system resource I can see the card recognized, in /drivers the Atheros 5211 is loaded but in wireless interfaces the interface doesn't show up. I've tried the same card on one RB112 and it works fine. Is the daughterboard the reason or I miss something here?. The version of RouterOS on RB532 is 2.9.27 and on RB112 is 2.9.24. I've tried to downgrade the 532 to 2.9.23, but got the same problem.

This is output from the router. There are all the three interfaces recognized but the first - device="00:0b.0" is missing from other menus ...

Problem solved!

I've chaged the card with Atheros 5413 based card and all works fine. Seems like the Proxim card is not compatible with this RB.

What chipset is on this Planet card?
If it's atheros it should work without problems, but Planet also uses Marwell chipset which doesn't work on MT.

Cheers...
