Maximum numbers of hosts

Tue Jul 14, 2015 12:19 pm

Good day

What is the recommended maximum number of hosts in a Mikrotik Hotspot enviroment?

I want to install a CCR router in a cloud environment and would like to run multiple Hotspot locations under one Hotspot in the cloud. Please any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Teorically Unlimited, but your are still limited by IP subnet to 254 hotspot users in one pool.

Are you sure? Cannot be the subnet wider than /24?

Thank you. I know the above. What I meant was what is recommended? What is the capability of RouterOS.
e.g can I do a cloud solution with 10000 or more hosts? Will this work? or are there limits.

What is the database, do you mean to use RouterOS hotspot profiles, or maybe better an external RADIUS machine for user DB ?

We are using an External Radius for authentication

The Routerboard we are using is a CCR1036-12G-4S
We have one Hotspot Server profile that span over multiple locations that point back to the RBCCR in the cloud.
Are there any limits to this? We have a /16 ip subnet for the Hotspot Users
