Dude monitor stability

Tue May 10, 2016 1:52 pm

Hi to everyone,

I installed RouterOS V6.35 and The Dude V6.35 in a VM (VMWare).
System works, but unfortunately I experience a similar issue of old Dude (pre RouterOS).

On old Dude, Dude service was crashing at least one time every 48h (stopping monitoring, so a service restart was needed). Now, with the new Dude, service does not hangs, but it seems to restart at least one time every 24h.
Effect is that I must manually re-open and adjust all Dude monitor windows every day (I use 4 phisycal monitors), because "restart" reset the main windows and close the others 3.

Is it a normal behavior or is there some work around to avoid this?

Thank you,

Andrea

Have you set increased chart keep time, or some other setting that is slowly eating away resources?

Hi Normis,

I think no, my settings are the following:

Raw Value 02.00.00
10 min value 2D
2 hour value 30D
1 day value 365D

Approx storage size is 42 KB.

Thank you,

Andrea

Another (I suppose) useful info, is that my current configuration is imported from my old Dude, so I can suppose (again) that I imported the original problem on the new system.

Are there other settings I can check that may cause that issue?

Do you have many probes that you made your self? Maybe disable them, see if it still crashes. Also can you run your old monitor to try to resolve the issue faster? Meaning disable a different bunch of probes on your old monitor to eliminate those probes being associated with causing the issue. Same for charts, how many charts are you running? Divide and conquer...

@supporto

Can you send supout file from that dude server host to support@mikrotik.com ? We can check if server side has reported something on these disconnects/crashes.
