NTP server support

Thu Nov 02, 2006 6:21 am

Is Dude going to support NTP directly or only through syncing to the OS time that is sync'd to NTP?

Dude is using system time and we don't see any reason to be otherwise.

Hi guys,

I think Mikrotik should reconsider the implementation of direct NTP Timeserver support within The Dude..
These days timesynchronisation is used and used more widely within networks then many people know.
Personally I would love it when The Dude would support NTP since I would like to be able to place something like a label on my maps with the time of the last poll and refresh of that map in it.

It's just something that might come in extremely handy when needed and doesn't really bother being there if somebody intends not to use it..

Regards,

So what's wrong with making sure the system time on the PC/server that's running the Dude server is correct? Every OS these days has a NTP client, so that should be easy enough to setup.

Or are you looking into running a NTP server?
