Dude - database or disk is full

Tue Dec 26, 2017 9:17 am

Hi,
I have dude in hyper-v virtual mashine. Dude disk - chr-6.40.5.vhdx - 140Mb.
When i try to connect to dude i get this: database or disk is full:stopped
I resize vhdx to 1 Gb and dude started, but how i can control free space and cleanup old data?
Thanks.

Hello, sekii!

We use CHR on ESXi with 2 disks:
1. System - 1 GB
2. Data - 20GB

In such case we always will be able to connect to the ROS, independently what is going on with Dude partition.
Dude folder is mapped to the "disk1/dude" folder.

As CHR require at least 128MB of disk space, you may create one partition for the ROS and second for Dude database.
You may export your current Dude database and then import it to the new location (newly created partition for Dude with appropriate size).

Thank you!

Run vacuum time to time. Set the aggregation age in order to swap big raw data by averages and database will stop growing in time (only by adding of devices or monitored services).

sekii, currently we have 150+ devices with ping and SNMP probes. Our installation work for about 1 year. DB backup is for about 35 MB.
Approximate calculation show that: 20GB / ~ 50MB = 410 years

Sure, relation between devices/probes/space maybe more complicated but if specified space will fit our needs for near 10 years it will be enough.

Thank you!

This thread is just lie-garbage. Mikrotik should fix this or just cut dude from routeros because it's just not up to snuff if it can't handle database maintenance.

dude db cant exceed 4gb, because routeros is fat32 so max size od db is 4gb ;) so, max disk used is around 8gb with backups... if you have some :)
