Limits for Dude

Thu Oct 31, 2019 5:28 pm

Hi guys and girls

I'm building a solution with interconnecting customer locations using ipsec.
For monitoring, I will use 2 pcs. RB1100AHx4 Dude edition.

Customer location-routers,- when fired up, will establish a ipsec connection to RB1100's,- open a tunnel over ipsec, and connect to the Dude.
Customer routers is running ipsec themselves, interconnecting in hub and spoke design.
Took some time to figure out. Self signed certificates, OSPF and everything.
Works perfect in lab :) I can monitor routers behind NAT, they can be carried around and connect using DHCP, perfect, but I'm thinking.

A RB1100AHx4 Dude Edition,- what is the limits? I'm thinking of hundreds of ipsec connections, each monitoring a MT customer router.

Yes, I will use 2 RB1100's with 2 Dudes,- redundancy. Each not knowing the other one.

Where do I "hit the wall" and the RB1100 begins freaking out? 100 locations, 500, 1000??

Best regards
Biker
