the new dude is garbage

Wed Jul 01, 2020 12:52 pm

so what's up with SNMP not working? the older dude 3.5 worked flawless, but the newer versions are totally unreliable, and practically unusable for SNMP.

i've tried different combinations of configs, v1, v2c, v3 - nothing works more than a few minutes and after that it just doesn't read anything anymore, just stops.

another crazy thing that happenes, let's say i'm monitoring interface fa0/6 and all is good, but then SNMP breaks and i have to reprobe the device and then the dude lists all interfaces except fa0/6!?!??

i have observed these issues on different platforms and on a virtual machine, all v6.x versions...

what the hell?

As I don't see this issue on my dude, I would like to know what platform you are running dude on.
I am running dude on a dedicated RB750GR3 now, used to run inside VBOX on an OSX server for years.
On VBOX I had issues with UDP, if the host system used the same ports, sometimes packets would never reach the client ...
Running 6.47 (stable) on :
CCR1009-8G-1S (2x ipsec/l2tp site-to-site, ipsec/l2tp roadwarrior, dhcpd, dns), CRS125-24G-1S, RB1100, RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT (10pc), RB931-2nD, RB951, RB750GL ,RB2011UAS-RM, RB750Gr3 running dude
