Router Logs full of user log in & log out records

Sat Aug 30, 2008 10:06 pm

OK.... I've searched the forum and can not find it... I'm sure that there is a thread on it ;-)

Running Dude 2.2 on the WinXP machine...

Some of my mik RBxxx routers, sometimes have a ton of "system info account user xxxx logged in from [dude ip address] via winbox" log entries....

It immediately logs out, then back in a few minutes later, log in, log out, in, out, in out....

Why is this happening? and how do I stop it.... router logs are full of this garbage....

I'm assuming that the issue is with the dude... perhaps it is a winbox issue....

Unset 'MikroTik RouterOS' for the monitored devices in Dude settings.
Then there will be not notifications about login from Dude address.

That definately stopped the log-in, log-out activity.... Thanks

Curious as to why?

What purpose does checking "Router OS" accomplish?

Why does the Dude log-in and log-out when that attribute is checked?

there are some RouterOS parameters you can control and monitor from within Dude. you can use dude as a simple winbox too. To get these values Dude has to log in

is there a way to keep the dude session open rather than have loads of logins... Or to only login when data requiring login is collected?

I'm facing a similar problem with a MikroTik v3.16 router. I'm using WinBox Loader v2.2.10 in order to login to router's IP 10.3.36.1 from my PC which sits on IP 10.2.23.1. BGP is the routing protocol inside our network. By having a look into remote router's Log, it appears that my user account is logged in from another IP (10.2.15.1). Could you please have a look at it?

I hold no installation of Dude inside my network (10.2.23.0/24) and at the moment of the successful logins it could only be me logging in. No one else has access (knows the passwords to that particular router), so it couldn't be someone else logging in at the very same time.
