We have the Dude on a PC, and use email notifications. Most mobiles have a email gateway to each phone number. So if your cell phone is a verizon one and your number was 260-123-4567 you could have the dude email 2601234567@vtext.com and you would receive sms alerts. Does this answer your question?

In Denmark all the operators closed this feature about 8years ago... So no Email to SMS for us...
So if RouterOS can be a SMS GW for The Dude, it would be nice :)

if you can connect a phone to the computer, and you have some software to send SMS with it, maybe you can call this software from the dude with some parameters

Check out sourceforge for an SMS application that is GPL and does what you need...

you probably configured it to send upon state change "Up->Down" but in real life this never happens. It's Up->Unstable->Down
because not all services die at the same time.

So you need to change SMS sending to state change Unstable->Down

Hi,

i´m new dude user and have a question:

our mobile carrier don´t have a email->sms gateway and we need sms notification.

Does it possible to write a RouterOS script in a RB493UAH to connect with mobile phone or modem in usb port, then dude (running in same RB) call for send messages ?

Is there a way for it?

Thanks in advance.

I know the post is old... but can you give me some advice for getting this to work.
I have installed SMStools and I am able to send SMS but I don't know how to integrate this with The Dude.

Thanks.
