Monitor Interface Specific Subnets

Wed Oct 17, 2012 11:31 am

Hello ,

I have a test windows 2008r2 machine and i monitor the traffic of a single network interface it has . Is there a way somehow to have only the internet traffic and not the local(internal) ? In another monitor system we have ( prtg) i can exclude subnets ( i have inserted my local subnets) and with that way i can monitor only the bandwidth that goes outside(internet).

Thanks

I don't know of a way to split the monitoring of traffic since the dude really collects interface statistics and not traffic itself. You'd be better off connecting a second network card and specifying routing so internal traffic uses the internal card and all other traffic goes out the other card. Then you could monitor both...

The dude is a SNMP collector where as PRTG is a packet capture/netflow monitor.
