The Dude 3.6 on Windows 7

Mon Mar 18, 2013 6:27 am

Hello MT forum...

I have searched the forum for a definitive answer to my question.

Why do the target devices I add to The Dude even though they are accessible show as there is not ping?

On the Windows 7 machine I even turned down the firewall all together, there is no other firewalling or filtering going on, just my remote office.

From the core router I can ping the Windows 7 machine and vice versa.

Thank you for your input regarding this.

Best Regards

Disable UAC, run the dude as Administrator, make sure the dude user can read/write to it's folder in program files and the the c:\ drive since some cfg file gets dropped there.

I was having this exact same problem. I had already tried running as administrator, but had not disabled UAC. I disabled UAC, and everything started working. Thank you!
