netinstall custom configuration

Thu May 10, 2018 9:34 am

hello there,

i have tried with netinstall to have also my own custom default-configuration.
i had no luck. - my only validation option is to import the xx.rsc file on the commandline.
this script i was trying to install via netinstall as my own custom-default configuration.

but it failes..- there was no config loaded so it looks to me that he have simply ignored my custom-config.

any ideas ? - do i have set special characters in the beginning or something else i cannot prove on the import way?

my goal is to boot after a factory reset my own custom config.

thank you very much for any help!

greetings

christian

Net install doesn't handle logic very well.
One workaround is chainloading it with scheduled tasks.

We use flashfig to set a task that loads the setup rsc
That setup rsc enables secure boot mode, preventing accidental reset.

I'll often netinstall the flashfig file when when reimaging.
So the method def works via netinstall

The ability to burn running config as default config is my number one most wanted feature.

hi dougunder,

thank you for your answer!
i find out that the key is a "waittime" in the beginning.
i had no success to get my whole custom default-configuration via netinstall.

so i did that way to setup the minimal configuration via netinstall after it when the "network" is available -> /tool fetch url
this way is working fine for me!

thank you for your recommendation!
