New to PPPoE

Wed Apr 26, 2023 7:54 pm

Hi,

PPPoE is new to me, however after some configuration experiments, I've discovered that it's simple to deploy and secure. I was able to study using a variety of platforms and configured 10 PPPoE clients successfully.
I need to keep track of each client’s bandwidth usage and I have come here to get advice. The moment a client disconnects and reconnect later, a new session is established and all previous data usage statistics are erased. Where do I start?
Please suggest an inexpensive (free 😊) and less complicated solution.

Just assign them static IPs
thank you.

Do I just create one ip in the pppoe pool for it to be static. I see I do not have an option to "Make Static".
