VPN Bonding

Fri May 05, 2023 4:50 pm

I’m wondering if someone can help me I’m struggling to get my setup working correctly.

Site A
Fibre 1000/100 fixed external ip connection
RB3011UiAS-RM

Site B
20/10 pppoe fixed external ip connection
4g lte 40/20 cgnat no fixed ip connection
RB2011UiAS-RM

What I am trying to do is link and route all traffic to / from Site B thru Site A and bond both connections (with option to add additional connections at a later date if needed) I don’t want to load balance as we need combined download speed at Site B, Site A has sufficient capacity to do this. No matter what I try I can only get the speed of one of the connections not the combined speed.

Thank you in advance for your assistance

Instead of trying to bond two completely different connections such as a fixed PPPoE and wireless cellular connection, you may want to consider using pre-routing and mangle rules instead, whereby you have a VPN connection from each WAN with rules about what traffic goes over what connection...

Otherwise, bonding may be possible with EoIP.. you'd still need two VPN (wireguard?) connections between Site A & B, one for each Site B WAN, then EoIP over the top...
