Hi all,
I've been having serious problems since Windows 11 update as well with my LHG LTE6 kit, and now LHG LTE18 kit.
I am now struggling with both antennas with the most basic test setup:
- Windows 11 x64 with latest updates, Wi-Fi off, default DHCP
- latest winbox 3.39 x64, freed in firewall for both inbound/outbound (firewall disabled for all private/public networks, btw)
- only ethernet connected to PoE adapter and straight into the LHG next to me, working SIM inserted.
This is what happens, in order and in a way that I can replicate multiple times with both antennas:
1) factory reset the LHG (the 5 seconds-hold-the-button-at-powerup reset):
LHG gives 192.168.188.x to the PC, from which I can ping 192.168.188.1 (default router configuration loaded automatically after reset)
From here I can initially connect to LHG web page via IP, and via IP and MAC with winbox.
2) change password; reboot both LHG and PC: in can still log in as in point 1)
3) manually upgraded routerOS to 7.11 (APN not setup yet, antenna not on the internet yet); reboot both LHG and PC: in can still log in as in point 1) and 2)
4) log in again (via winbox or webpage does not matter) and do just this: set APN to the one of my SIM provider; antenna goes on the internet: it can check for updates; now from PC I can ping 192.168.188.1, I can ping 8.8.8.8, but not
www.google.com (DNS not passed through the PC, btw how to do that? I forgot)
5) Now if I just close winbox and try to reconnect: impossible, via IP and via MAC: I am completely cut off from the LHG! And again, this is while I can still ping it!
6) reboot both PC and LHG, nothing like 5)
So the bottom line: the moment I set the APN and the antenna goes online, I lose any mean to connect to the LHG and I cannot access it anymore, not via IP (web or winbox), not via MAC (winbox), but all while I can still ping 192.168.188.1 and 8.8.8.8 !!!
So this is not just the issue with accessing via MAC: again PC has 192.168.188.x IP given by the LHG, it can ping 192.168.188.1, but it cannot access it not via web browser not via winbox!
7) as a final test I followed the advice of this forum: disable DHCP for the PC ethernet connection and setup a dummy IP 192.168.188.x, 192.168.188.1 gateway, DNS 8.8.8.8. From here I can still ping 192.168.188.1, still ping 8.8.8.8, but again, I cannot access it the LHG, not via IP, not via MAC!
How do I get out of this? I need to be able to access the LHG anytime, always. I cannot setup static IP in my PC every time I need to check or configure something, mainly because, short of the simple test setup I described above, my situation is way, way more complex: Peplink router mixing together 4 WAN's of which LTE is just one, and all remotely managed as I don't live here all the time.
Extremely frustrated, what do I do, back to Windows 10 ?
