Must manually reconnect after power loss

Fri May 12, 2023 1:15 pm

Hi all,

Pretty new to Mikrotik. I have a hEX S running, connected to internet via pppoe on ether1 port.
I have noticed that after every power loss of the router, I dont have internet access until I manually reconnect the pppoe connection throughout Winbox.

Is that expected?
How can I overcome this?

Thanks!

Do you use DHCP-client and PPPoE-out on the same port?

Not sure. How do I check it?
In winbox I see that there is a DHCP client on ether1 interface, however it's status is "stopped".
Should I remove it?

In addition I can tell that I do see the pppoe status as "conncted", but only after I push Reconnect, I gain internet access again.

Stopped or disabled? Did you check this after PPPOE reconnected?

In the status I see it as 'Stopped'
Also after reconnecting it is still 'Stopped'

If your wan connection is handled by the pppoe settings, then you should disable or remove ip dhcp client.
