RB5009UPr+S+IN not able to power Unifi AP U6-LR

Thu May 18, 2023 7:08 pm

I purchased a RB5009UPr+S+IN so that I could put my PoE access points on the router and eliminate my PoE injector.
I have no issues with Unifi UAP-AC-Pro or the Unifi U6-Pro, but when I have the U6-LR connected directly to the router, the AP goes into random reboots anywhere from 1 minute to 20 minutes.
I have thoroughly tested the cable drop, tried a known good cable, different ports on the router, etc. The AP works perfectly fine using a PoE injector. It's been up for the last 15 hours since I moved it back to the injector, which then is connected to the router via the same port the direct connection failed.

The router is powered by the included DC cable. Is there another powering option to make this work? Or is this router just not enough for the Unifi U6-LR access point?

Any advice is appreciated.

Edit: I found this power supply: https://amzn.to/41IIBic Is this what I need?

Power adapter, supplied wirh RB5009m is superior to what you found on amazon (supplied PA is rated at 96W). There's some math to be done ... total power consumption (RB5009 plus all powered devices) must remain below PA capacity. Also observe per-port limitations of RB5009, with longer interconnect cable your Unifi might be drawing too high current (due to larger voltage drop).

I'm considering replacing my US-8-150W with RB5009UPr to save some rack space. Have you figured it out yet? Is RB5009Upr able to power multiple U6 Pro?
