CAP Lite POE Input (Mode A?)

Wed May 24, 2023 9:29 am

Hi
Can anyone please confirm for me that the cAPlite supports Mode A poe input - that is 48v with +12 and -36

I dont want to power it with mode B which uses +45 -78 as it is old 2-pair cat5 cable so need to use the same pairs for power and 100mbit data.

The spec sheet says it supports 802.11af/at but doesnt specify the POE mode.

Thanks for your assistance

802.3af/at powered devices should accept both Mode A and Mode B with either polarity according to the standards, however Mikrotik PoE-in support is frequently not fully compliant.

From https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:T ... lity_table it appears a cAP lite will work if you use an MDI-X crossover cable or adapter.

Thanks - thats the chart I was looking for.

The Crossover cable is an interesting one. But I can make it work :-)

Thanks again for your help - I really appreciate it.
