Recover after netinstall to unsupported ROS version?

Fri Jun 02, 2023 4:45 pm

Hi,
I'm setting up a cap ac XL.
I was trying to netinstall the latest Long-term release of routeros but ended up with getting stuck.
I whaited for 30 min but I was stuck:
One thing I have not found any infromation on is the "boot port" of the cap. I could not find any info on https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/UM/cAP+XL+ac and in the netinstall info page it said that I should connect to the "boot port" which normally is eth1. So I used eth1.
sudo ./netinstall-cli -r -a 192.168.88.1 routeros-arm-6.48.7.npk

Version: 7.9.1(2023-05-19 12:54:50)
Will reset to default config
Interface Mask: 255.255.255.0
Using Client IP: 192.168.88.1
Using Server IP: 192.168.88.2
Starting PXE server
Waiting for RouterBOARD...
client: 48:A9:8A:2D:FB:32
Sending image: arm
sendFile 3449268
Discovered RouterBOARD...
Formatting...
Sending package routeros-arm-6.48.7.npk ...
client: 48:A9:8A:2D:FB:32
Len: 3449268Sending image: arm
sendFile 3449268
The cap came form the factory with ROSv 6.49.7 and I was in effect downgrading it to ROS 6.48.7.
I do not know if the long term release is supported or not but since I get stuck I think I must have netinstalled to unsupported.

So to recover from it I'm trying to upgrade but get stuck here:
sudo ./netinstall-cli -r -i enp0s31f6 -a 192.168.88.1 routeros-arm-6.49.8.npk
Version: 7.9.1(2023-05-19 12:54:50)
Will reset to default config
Using Interface: enp0s31f6
Wait for Link-UP on 'enp0s31f6'. OK
Using Client IP: 192.168.88.1
Using Server IP: 192.168.88.2
Starting PXE server
bind failed: Address in use
Waiting for RouterBOARD...
client: 48:A9:8A:2D:FB:32
Sending image: arm
sendFile 3449268[

Is there a way to fix this?

After a reboot of the computer the upgrade worked.
