hap ax lite

Sat Jun 03, 2023 9:40 am

I don't have any experience with Mikrotik. I have a hap ax lite router with Router OS 7. My idea is to connect it to an Access Point and use the Internet through a LAN because I can't find repeater mode. Most of the guides on the Internet are how to repeater mode and it is missing here.
Please help me with the settings

Thank you in advance!

No one guide on the internet can set the ax to repeater mode, is unsupported at all, exactly how is wrote in the official guide.

True repeater mode is not possible (no 4-way address mode in wifiwave2) but something can be done IF you can accept another NAT layer.
So it depends on what you want to use it for.

Default config.
Remove wif1 from bridge.
Set wifi on AX Lite to station mode and connect to AP.
DHCP client on wifi1 (it should get an IP from the router upstream)
Add ether1 port to bridge.
Move ether1 from WAN list to LAN
Move wifi1 from LAN to WAN.

And then you have following situation:
- access to network and internet for wired devices connected to AX Lite
- devices on AX Lite are not accessible from previous network
- devices connected to AX Lite can access devices on previous network

Yes / No....

If the other device is another MikroTik, just set EoIP between the two device and put all on the lan bridge...
Just for example...
On this way is only one unique LAN network.
