Hide my real IP in ICMP.

Hide my real IP in ICMP.

Hello everyone, I have this question, is it possible to hide the IP of my RouterBoard without using a VPN over the WAN as a result of an ICMP query.

Example and for reference. When pinging a domain

It is possible to change that number so that when you ping micasa.com, instead of IP 127.10.25.4, the result is IP 190.25.145.2.

Some type of rule in particular, in itself it is more like just blocking the ICMP protocol on the Input chain, is to redirect the response to another IP.

All the best.

If I understand your question, no. As I understand your question, if someone pings your domain that will get to your RouterBoard, you want a fake IP address returned. The initial IP shown in the ping command is based on the DNS lookup and is before ever sending a ping to you. In the ping command shown below, the "Pinging google.com [142.251.40.46]..." is not a response from your router. You have ZERO control of it.
C:\Windows\system32>ping google.com

Pinging google.com [142.251.40.46] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 142.251.40.46: bytes=32 time=22ms TTL=116
