Hardware power compatibility hAP ax3 and cAP ax

Mon Dec 11, 2023 10:25 am

Greetings. There are hAP ax 3 and cAP ax, when the access point is connected to port 5 of the router, the point does not start and works only from an external power supply. Is this how it should be, or is the access point itself faulty? There is an assumption that the power supply on the router is not able to power both the router and the access point due to the large difference in voltage ranges (router 18-28 Volts, access point 18-57 Volts). I am grateful in advance.

hAP ax3 has PoE out on port ether1.

Voltages are fine as long as you use power adapter, shipped with hAP ax3, which is 24V.

Thanks for the tip. I already realized that the 1st port is both the input and the power input, I was confused by the fact that there is a PoE in indicator near the 5th port, so I thought that the devices are powered from it.
