hAP ax^2 Wifi problem

Fri Feb 02, 2024 1:21 pm

Hi,

I have recently started with RouterOS, I am trying to configure a hAP ax^2.

Everything worked except for the WiFi. When I create a New Interface it says at the bottom under Master: unknown.

Already gave it a factory reset.
RouterOS v: 7.13.3

Can someone help to fix this?

Default you should already have 2 wifi interfaces on that device.
wifi1 = 5GHz radio
wifi2 = 2.4GHz radio.

So what do you mean with "gave it a factory reset" ?
Was that before moving to 7.13 ?

Do you have by any chance a wireless package on that device ? You shouldn't.

I don't have wifi1 and wifi2.

I gave it a factory reset after i moved to 7.13. I already downgraded to 7.10 but same issue.

Where can I see if I have a wireless package installed?

Winbox / System / packages

But I already have a dark feeling about what's going to be the next step.
I wonder what you did to that device but definitely not a simple factory reset...

In the Package List I only see routeros 7.13.3 Jan/24/2024 13:16:46

What do you think that I can do best?

Re: hAP ax^2 Wifi problem  [SOLVED]

Ideally: netinstall using base package and wifi-qcom as packages. But that might be a real ordeal given your experience ...

You can also try to download extra packages for arm64 and drop wifi-qcom on Files (NOT wifi-qcom-ac).
Then reboot, this will install the wifi drivers.
Then Winbox / System / Reset Configuration
Tick Keep users
Untick CAPS mode
Untick No Default Configuration
Tick Do Not Backup
This will reconfigure everything from default.

And check if wifi1 and wifi2 are present then.

Hi Holvoetn,

Thank you so much.

Downloaded the extra packages and uploaded wifi-qcom.
Reboot the Mikrotik and then Reset the configuration.
I finally now can enable WiFi.
