i guess i have a easy problem, but i just can't figure it out myself. I bought a cAP ax. I have a network (e.g. 182.17.76.0/24) where I wanted to connect my clients to. I connected to AP to my switch and my laptop to the AP, but i have a problem wtih the default configuration. My laptop is getting a 192.168.88.X IP. While i can still access the internet and ping through the network, im not able to ping the connected laptop from the network. I need to configurate it so that the connected clients get a 182.17.76.X IP. I already have a DHCP server (182.17.76.. When trying to change the DCHP server settings i just loose the internet connection and im unable to ping anywhere. I didn't find this topic on the internet or in the forum so I think it should be simple, but im clueless right now.

Start by exporting your configuration.

Default config that AP is setup to have subnet 192.168.88.0/24 on bridge with DHCP server.
So you need to remove that part...

For old wifi APs there was a quickset to do that quite easily.
On AX devices those quicksets are not implemented (yet ?).

- connect to AP using ether2 if possible, otherwise you'll get kicked out a couple of times (ether2 or Wifi, use Winbox and connect via MAC)
- change DHCP client of AP from ether1 to bridge
- add ether1 to bridge
- remove DHCP server from bridge
- change ether1 from interface list WAN to LAN

That should be it.
There is further cleanup which can be done but this should already be enough.

IDEALLY you can set that AP to CAPs mode, then get in again and configure all wifi like you want using local manager.

Or maybe it's better to reset cAP ax without default configuration applied ?

That way OP will remove all unnecessary configuration.

When you start with empty config, you need to remember to add all interfaces to bridge.
Also wifi interfaces (been there, done that, forgot it more then once).

CAPs mode= all interfaces to bridge, DHCP client on bridge and wifi interfaces listening to capsman manager.
Nothing else.

Yea but you have 2 wifi interfaces and one wired interface to add to bridge. (second one off bridge management)

Not so much more work.

Lot of rectal plucks here fellas, get facts before making stories.
a. What device is the main router? ( is it MT or something else )
b. Where is the config for review of the cAPAX.
c. network diagrams help
d. detailing requirements for optimal design
(i) identify all users/devices that require traffic.
(ii) identify all the traffic flows the above users/devices need.
