As Override vs Allow-As-In Behavior

Tue Apr 23, 2024 7:16 am

Hi All,

Good day, Just want to ask if I use As Override on both PE1 or PE2 the effect is instantaneous both loopback address was learned and installed on each CE's rib, while Allow-As-In if you set in to 1 on CE side the effect is not immediate you have to disable and tear down the peer connection before you see the desired outcome?, can someone confirm if that was really the behavior?

edit: allow-as-in is half bake it will not take effect unless the route is withdraw or the peer has been teardown, I wait for more than 30 minutes as if the settings is not doing anything, Is there any bgp timers/settings/tunables that we can set for this to work automatically without tearing the connection or intentionally withdraw the route?

routing/bgp/session/refresh 0 address-family=ip
