RBM33G performance as wired router

Mon Jun 17, 2024 1:29 pm

Hello :)

I've seen multiple people bragging that properly configured (eg. with absolutely minimal firewall and active fasttrack) RB750Gr3 (hEX) or RB760iGS (hEX S) could NAT residential (eg. asymmetric) gigabit line quite happily. Is this possible on RBM33G too? It shares the same SoC performing CPU and switch chip duties and has its Ethernet ports aranged in similar way (eg. just two "lines" to the CPU).

Does anyone use it with RouterOS 7 as a wired only router? What's your performance? How LAN side VLANs affect performance?

Thanks in advance for all the answers.

Hello,

I'm actually using a RBM33G with FTTH 1000/300 with onboard configured multiple vpn tunnels, vpn server, firewall rules etc.
I get generally 980/280 Mbps without any problem and during this speedtest cpu hits about 60% usage.
