assign vlan based on what i plug in lan port

Tue Nov 12, 2024 2:25 am

let say 500 person have in theirs home 500 hap AC2. this 500 person are most of the time dum and dunno anything about cable and pluging cable into equipement. So in the HAP AC2 we got 4 lan port when its configure as router. so this 500 client have IPTV receptor that the mac began with exp : 22:22:22:XX:XX:XX. so i want to be abble to configure as this. when a client unplug the cable for any reason and plug it into any lan port the router will see the mac and put him directly in the VLAN for this equipement anything else that the client will plug will go in the defauld vlan 1. Do someone know how to set up the HAP AC2 to do this ?

NOPE....... but you can configure each router so that
ether1 is wan, ether2 has purpose W, ether3 has purpose X ether4 has purpose Y and ether5 has purpose Z
Label the port so users know which port to plug into for the necessary purpose.

all user is dummer than the other so we already have all our router label but when a outage or something happen they thinking to move cable arround in hope to fix right away the problem without calling us first to know what is the problem.

So i was thinking mikrotik have this option that when a item is connect go to a proper vlan but if its not possible then we will have to maybe review other option thanks
