AWS X86 ROS7.17

Mon Jan 20, 2025 1:27 pm

Has anyone updated their AWS X86 instance to the latest 7.17 ROS version? Any issues at all?

Thanks!

Just curious, what makes CHR RouterOS attractive at AWS that VPC Security Groups and ACL don't cover?

AWS Security Groups are pretty much limited to basic Layer 3 stuff.

In my case it was a simple matter of 'if I'm learning how to use Mikrotik's OS in the process of making my home router work, I may as well use that to make the Amazon end work too.' Probably a flawed decision, as there are much better AWS options for providing the VPN server I use it for, but there you are......

To answer my own question (after no-one else did), it seems to work fine.
