Hello all:
I have two routers running (currently a CCR2116 and a CCR1016). The CCR1016 is my backup router. They are running VRRP on all my vlans, which generally map to public IP blocks that are being BGP announced. Currently, I have the CCR1016 set to prepend my AS to ensure its lower priority, and all the VRRP priorities are set to prefer the CCR2116. In the event of a total failure of the CCR2116, it appears to fail over more or less as I would like.
However, it is possible to get in a state where the VRRP interface is on a router different from the one that is preferred via BGP (generally due to router work, etc). I would like, if it is possible, to have each router announce the subnet only if its VRRP interface that uses that subnet is active. Is there a way to filter based on that? Is there a reason I shouldn't do this?
Thank you!
