Lags and missing snmp data on links

Fri Apr 23, 2021 3:13 pm

Good day.
We have been using The Dude for about 10 years (since x86 Beta), constantly adding new devices and beacons there. Today we have 2400 devices, 2600+ beacons and more than 3000 links with snmp bandwidth status.

The problem is that after switching from x86 4.0 Beta to version 6 for RouterOS, we have very low responsiveness.

Opening a device card or adding a device, it takes about 3 seconds. We also have a problem with displaying the current bitrate on the SNMP links.

The use of agents (added 10 devices), the situation has changed for the better, but has not resolved.

What solution do you recommend?

My approach is to vacuum the database every day. If the database is not vacuumed for long time, exporting the database, removing, creating the new one and importing data back could help a lot to start with smaller database. Be sure to check the results on test system before you do whatever of suggested things. Keeping it on ssd is a must.
