switch as WAN interfaces

Tue Nov 16, 2021 10:16 am

Hello!
Could somebody give me any sort of clue in solving the following case
We have single line from ISP provider and two "real" IP (accessible from Internet) assigned from different autonomous system (e.g. IPs with its default gateways and MACs).
First IP assigned to Mikrotik servicing office LAN and the second IP - to physical server.
Right now the line (twisted pair) enters the network hub (made of ancient D-link), and two patchcords connect it with Mikrotik RB750 (IP 1.2.3.4/24) and the server (IP 5.6.7.8/24). There is no VLANs or other tricks. I'm planning remove hub from the scheme (to increase the whole reliability) and connect provider cable to the Mikrotik, then with single patchcord link Mkrotik's interface #2 and the server (there are free slots in Mikrotik LAN group).
Is it possible to implement "external" switch by inner Mikrotik entities and does not change network settings on the server? Also it would be great if provider still sees the same MACs for both our IPs
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Thank you for your attention
Denis
