Chateau 5G (LTE AP Duel) & Metal 52 (CPE)

Wed Dec 01, 2021 4:50 pm

Ok, it’s been a few days of fighting with this and I’m reluctantly giving up and asking the hive for ideas.

Im new to Mikrotik and looking to achieve the following scenario

Installed on a sailing yacht.
Capture land based WIFI using the Metal 52 in CPE mode.
Once captured, feed internet signal down Ethernet to ether1 on the chateau 5G.
Chateau feeds ether1 WAN to all other ports and WLAN on single bridge.
Chateau used LTE signal as fail over when WiFi is not available thru metal 52

I have successfully got the Metal 52 capturing WiFi and sharing on Ethernet (when laptop is connected with fixed up address directly to Metal, I can surf the web)

The chateau appears to be the problem. I have tried various solutions surrounding static addresses and NAT rules but have had no luck in getting it to share the internet access.

If anyone here would be so kind as to offer a step by step to getting this running, I would be increasingly grateful as it’s been driving me crazy.
