Locked Out - RB951G-2HnD

Thu Jan 13, 2022 3:31 pm

Hello All, please I need help!

I've removed the bridge network 192.168.88.0 and can't log into the router.
I created a LAN on ether_2 - 192.168.10.1 and can't log in with this address.
I cant see anything on the neighbors tab on Winbox.
Also, added a WAN address on ether_1

The RESET button is unable to reset the device.

Please, someone, help me

Find a USB to serial cable and a serial null-modem cable. If your PC doesn't have a native serial port, find yet another USB to serial cable. With these, you should be able to connect using a serial terminal software on the PC (e.g. PuTTY) and re-allow Winbox access via MAC address or via IP address, depending what turns out simpler, using commandline commands. E.g. to regain access via MAC address, it would be
/ip neighbor discovery-settings set discover-interface-list=all
/tool mac-server set allowed-interface-list=all
/tool mac-server mac-winbox set allowed-interface-list=all

Before applying these commands, disconnect the uplink for security reasons.

By default, the serial port settings are data-bits=8 parity=none stop-bits=1, I think the speed is 115200 but it may also be 57600 or even 9600.

I had the same issue with my hAP AC. I am not sure what is your device is and what led you need to follow. Here, is what I did
Step 1: Hold the reset button while powering up the device First beep. ( SFP light is on and not blinking)
Step 2: Second beep. (SFP light will blink twice about half a second. That's the queue when you release the reset button)
for my router it was SFP led, your might vary.

But, if your USB button is really doesn't work then you have to follow what @sindy said.

If you don't have a null modem cable as @sindy suggested, then see here how to properly reset your device https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:R ... set_button
