CCR1036-12G-4S 1 Gbit between VLANs

Thu Jan 20, 2022 6:23 pm

Hello

I'm trying to understand how to achieve full gigabit speed between vlans. Right now CCR1036-12G-4S is core router in my network and when i'm trying to transfer files between vlans (from vlan 5 to vlan 10 for example) i get only half of gigabit speed, so my question is, can i do something about it? Or this router can't route traffic at full gigabit speed between vlans?

As i understand router like CCR2004-1G-12S+2XS will fix my problem?

Do you try with a single flow or multiple ones? And will the load be a single flow in reality? CCR1036 is a "many weak cores" machine, CCR2004 is a"few powerful cores" one.

I'm trying with single flow, just copying file from one machine to another. In reality of course load is more complex, but what i'm trying to achieve, is to have ability to transfer quite big files from one server to another located in different vlans with full gigabit speed

So seems like for my case CCR2004 will do the job?
