RB4011 + Compex WLEV2-20 = issues

Wed Jan 26, 2022 3:21 pm

I have RB4011 (WIFI version).

I tried to change Mikrotik R11E card to Compex WLE1216V2-20, but that card wont work - I need 2.4Ghz with wifiwave2 package.

Compex card isnt even detected in Resources/IRQ. R11E card normal working in that RB4011. Compex card is normally recognizable by PC so its OK.

I have RouterOS 7.1.1 with wifiwave2 package.

Do you have any ideas how to run Compex WLE1216V2-20 on RB4011?

No.
That's a very bad sign. Entries there are created by PCI subsystem driver and any hardware properly functioning should appear there even if ROS doesn't have driver for it.

Try to re-seat the card in the miniPCIe slot and make sure it doesn't move afterwards (e.g. when you're fastening the screws).

i tried 3 times to re-seat card in rb4011. When I put card to PC then it works normal.

Hi! Does the card touch any components of the board? The original mPCIe socket is not so tall, so the board may short-circuit something.

One more thing: do you have any link to the manufacturer's page? I can't find anything about that chip. EDIT: I found it, I got the very same card. Same thing. But in my case, I made it work in a RBM33G flashed with OpenWRT.

The card doesn`t touch any components. It is fitted ok.

Do you have any other advises?
