resurecting. Setting negotiation rates still doesn't work on these.
I'm wanting to use this to copper feed a netpower 16 on the roof in a router-on-a-stick kind of setup. I don't know if I'm going to get a reliable 10G error free and I got these specific modules thinking I would be able to set 2.5G or 5G but no amount of messing around will get them to negotiate anything but 10G on my bench.
I'm having issues with a Netpower 16P uplink to a CCR2004 while having no issue with another Netpower 16P uplinked to the same CCR2004.
The main difference between both Netpowers is cabling length (15m for the working one, 25m for the non-working one).
I tried to reduce link speed to 2.5G but couldn't.
The issues I have are:
- temperature too high (confirmed)
- connectivity loss (unconfirmed)
It seems NbaseT standard requires autoneg.
I think I would much appreciate :
- either speed to be set-forced through RouterOS
- either SFP+ modules with fixed 2.5G or 5G speeds so that you don't need to mess with devices config (just replace one SFP+ with another one).
