Hi,
I run a virtual mikrotik device in GNS3 which in turn runs as a VM in my VMware workstation.
I added a Custom type (VMnet2) and gave it 10.10.10.0 as subnet in the Virtual Network Editor .
I then set two adapters in the VM which runs GNS3:
So, I also created a debian Vm in Vmware and connected its network adapter to VMnet2 (custom)
.
In a few words, I created a WAN port and a LAN port for the Mikrotik running in GNS3:
Mk ether1 (WAN) is connected to Cloud1 ether0, and Mk ether2 (LAN/bridge) is connected to CLoud1 ether1.
The debian VM is connected to the Vmnet custom adapter, that is, the LAN side (subnet 10.10.10.0/24), so that it get access to internet via the Mikrotik virtual device.
Everything works now as I expected, but I'd like to come up with a clearer topology, something like this:
That is, Cloud1 for the WAN side and Cloud2 for the LAN side.
I still haven't understood how to set it up in GNS3 though.
Could you please help me figure it out?
Thanks
